If you have a question, just call

Last week I visited car companies, looking for a new car. Before I had the courage to start my hunt, I orientated myself on the Internet. With a clear picture in mind, I shuddered as I visited several showrooms, afraid of aggressive salesmen who would jump right in the neck to push that 'fantastic car' down my throat as quickly as possible.

That fear turned out to be unfounded, times have changed. As in many industries, I was able to walk in and out of most showrooms 'unseen'. In one of the showrooms I sat in a beautiful car for a while, turning all the buttons. After I got out, a salesman walked up to me from behind his PC. "Can I help you sir?" I looked at him with a smile and said, "No thanks, I'm just snooping around." He responded with a flat tone 'if you have a question just call' and walked back to his desk.

What would have happened if this seller had asked sincere questions and tried to help me in my search for my ideal car? Provided me with relevant information and made me feel like my personal advisor?
